The health of our own and our children’s dentition rests on us. The aim of preventing dental diseases is to keep our own teeth in all our life, which is the most beneficial solution both in the aspect of aesthetics and chewing ability. The personal hygienic habits of the family can serve as a model for children, thus oral hygiene acquired in childhood are determining throughout our life. Keeping children’s primary teeth clean guarantees the health of their permanent teeth. It is the parents' responsibility to help and supervise their children until they reach school-age.

Wash your teeth at least twice a day, in the mornings and evenings. It is important to clean the outer and inner sides, and the chewing surfaces of teeth paying particular attention to gum margins. The cleanliness of filled teeth and prosthesis is also essential because of secondary dental caries and gingivitis developing around tooth replacements. Use dental floss for cleaning areas that are hardly accessible. It is also advisable to clean the tounge carefully at the end of tooth brushing. Washing your teeth before going to bed is extremely important, since the production of saliva is reduced during the night, thus the defense and cleaning functions of the saliva become less effective, which can intensify the danger of plaque formation. The accumulation of bacterial plaque can cause gingivitis, dental caries and bad breath (halitosis), however, these problems can be prevented by good oral hygiene.


Regular dental visits

Besides a healthy nutrition rich in vitamins and minerlas, the healthy oral cavity is also very significant which is provided by careful oral hygiene and regular dental exams. In this period dental cleaning is particularly advised. Recently more and more datas appear about the frequency of premature newborns with low birthweight in case of mothers who suffer from untreated periodontal disease. Efforts made to keep healthy dentition and gum can not only prevent dental caries and gingivitis during pregnancy, but provide increased protection against tooth decay for unborn children as well. Dental care for babies
